It flourished as an almost Flametongue Kavu-style two-for-one in Lorwyn -era Faerie tribal, and it has shown its strength for long stretches in UR Pauper tempo decks

That's a really strong card to just pitch to something or discard off rummage

While I absolutely adore the reference to both Damnation and Wrath of God, I cant help but wish that it was possible to cast the standard version of the spell at instant speed

He's been reprinted so much in Commander decks that he's a very cheap guy now, and I run him in loads of brews
