Cutaneous eruptions occur in 3% of individuals who receive carbamazepine and include diffuse erythema, exanthematous rash, urticaria, purpuric petechiae, or a mucocutaneous syndrome any of which can occur from day 8 to day 16 after treatment initiation.[2] Other dermatological adverse effects of carbamazepine include drug hypersensitivity, exfoliative dermatitis, erythroderma, erythema multiforme, and toxic epidermal necrolysis

However, this is not necessary with L-carnitine either
